Essentially, neither of them is better than the other as they both have their own benefits, depending mostly on their required application. Both of them have a succession of advantages and disadvantages and the choice to use any of them should be based on your particular wants as a webmaster and in any case not on the reputation of the operating system itself. It is also true that most people are able to use a Linux web hosting plan without any key trouble. Then again, some people might need the capability to run Windows based web applications on their servers, case in which a Linux web hosting plan would just not be sufficient.

Hello Friends......

Linux web hosting is better than Windows hosting when you are looking for a simple, cheap and reliable web hosting solution. For instance, if you are running a simple eCommerce website, or several blogs, you can use a Linux hosting plan without problems. A Linux hosting plan is also the perfect choice if you are on a tight budget and you do not require Windows based web applications.

Thanks

I will prefer windows hosting because Windows  hosting is a popular choice for many businesses which are using Microsoft Software to handle their work. and also its haveing good benefits like With ASP and ASP.NET, Windows can be applied to almost all application such as PHP / MySQL scripts and additional.and If you need a large database for a company, the Windows platform will be the best choice.

I've been rattling joyful with Power.com as a multitude... I expect I maybe had lower than 10 hours of downtime endmost year with them and that was because I was on an senior server that had to be migrated. Additional than that, their Linux servers get been extremely reliable. I do woman the cir. V Deck backed which was a lot easier to guide, but I rarely ever necessary to go in there, since I do everything in notepad and Dreamweaver and then FTP it up when willing. So active the exclusive term I pulverization to go into the know window is to falsehood MySQL Des or edit/drop a plateau or two.

Linux web hosting is better than Windows hosting when you are looking for a simple web solution, cheap and reliable hosting. For example, if you're running an ecommerce web site simple, or more blogs, you can use a Linux hosting plan with no problems. Linux also has a reputation for stability and speed which means that Linux web servers will crash less often than Windows web servers and Linux runs most processes faster than Windows. Linux sites focus on PHP, Perl and other open-source script languages for server side scripting.

I use Linux by default cause it's what my paid hosting company offers, but I wouldn't say no to Windows hosting either.  It seems like a fairly intuitive system.

Linux all the way. You just can't beat a LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) setup. I've had problems with Apache and PHP on Windows, so I stick with Linux for web hosting.

I've been very happy with Ipower.com as a host... I think I maybe had less than 10 hours of downtime last year with them and that was because I was on an older server that had to be migrated. Other than that, their Linux servers have been extremely reliable. I do miss the older VDeck backend which was a lot easier to navigate, but I rarely ever need to go in there, since I do everything in notepad and dreamweaver and then FTP it up when ready. So about the only time I need to go into the control panel is to setup MySQL DBs or edit/drop a table or two.

Both Linux and Windows web hosting have their benefits and drawbacks. Let’s look at some of their differences:

- Windows hosting is established on the Windows operating system.
Linux based hosting is the more famous type of hosting on the internet.

- Windows can support different types of programming frameworks. It also supports    SQL server.
Most of the technologies that run on Linux are open source.

- Windows hosting is usually higher than Linux.
Linux has a comparatively low cost.
